Specialist book production
FlexiCase.
A book that bends, without feeling disposable.
FlexiCase sits between paperback and hardcover: a flexible, turned-edge cover wrapped around a section-sewn book block, with the opportunity to use endpapers, ribbons and other details normally associated with case-bound books.
The result is lighter and more tactile than a conventional hardcover, more substantial than a perfect-bound paperback, and particularly well suited to books designed to be handled, kept and revisited.
Why FlexiCase
Premium without
the rigidity.
A FlexiCase can give a cookbook, photographic title, lifestyle book or special publication a strong sense of value without the bulk and stiffness of a traditional case-bound hardcover. Section sewing also improves durability and helps the book open more naturally.
Section-sewn construction
Signatures are sewn before binding, creating a strong book block and better opening characteristics than standard perfect binding.
Flexible turned-edge cover
A softer cover construction gives the book a distinctive hand-feel while retaining the finished appearance of a premium publication.
Hardcover-style detailing
Depending on specification, endpapers, head and tail bands, marker ribbons, flaps and specialist surface finishes can all be considered.
Where it works particularly well.
FlexiCase is not simply a cheaper hardcover. It has its own character, and works best when that character suits the content.
Comfortable to hold and use, with a premium retail feel.
A refined option where tactility and presentation are part of the experience.
More distinctive than a conventional paperback without becoming overly formal.
Suitable where the object itself needs to feel considered and keep-worthy.
